This is quite an example of independent artist. Pretty Lights has acquired a good number of fans all around, and keep himself solo, no labels, just managing himself as an artist, playing around the US and spreading his EPs (pretty constantly) for free. I would add a plus, he asks the vintage scifi artist Dan McPharlin to sign his covers, which makes it A++. The message on Glowing in the Darkest Night keeps following a line since his last few albums, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t sounds new. He has subtle ways of getting new things on the PL sound. For those who like Prefuse73, DJ Shadow and such, Pretty Lights will fit like a glove.
